Cleveland Yoga’s Student Health

At Cleveland Yoga, we take the health and protection of our community members, staff and teachers very seriously — particularly during this time of fast moving viruses and flu season.  

In Ohio, even though the risk of contracting Coronavirus [COVID-19] is still minimal, we want to ensure you that we are fully aware of its contagiousness. In addition to our professional studio cleanings and highly attentive regular cleaning processes throughout the day, our extra disinfecting measures include:  

  • Disinfecting all public spaces and touch points at additional times throughout the day (door knobs, facets, sinks, etc.).
  • Temporarily removing the use of soft, porous props, (bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps). 
  • Offering antibacterial/antiviral wipes in the block/strap room in the studio for you to use to wipe off your mat.  
  • Reducing the number of hands-on assists.

While our team members are doing everything possible to maintain a clean and healthy environment for you to practice in, we also ask that you follow these guidelines to manage your practice space and sweat:  

  • Please do not come to the studio if you are sick or are not feeling well.
  • Bring two practice towels; one towel for your mat and one towel to clean up your space and dry off before leaving the studio.
  • Wear moisture-wicking clothing to absorb moisture and perspiration. (We highly recommend moisture wicking t-shirts for men and tank tops for women). 
  • After practice, please wipe up the area around your mat space of any excess water spills or sweat. 
  • Wipe down blocks with disinfectant wipes after use.  
  • Be diligent about your sweat management and hygiene.  

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), COVID-19 is spread similarly to the flu and common cold. Symptoms may include fever, coughing and difficulty breathing. Every student can take action to prevent the spread of disease, including:

  • Washing your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water.
  • Covering all coughs and sneezes; disposing of all tissues immediately after use in proper receptacles.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched items and surfaces, such as phones and door knobs, with a disinfectant of at least 60% alcohol content.

We will continually work to stay ahead of this situation and keep you informed of any necessary measures.
