Teaching Style:
I practice and teach a deliberate, strong California-style vinyasa flow that introduces more nuanced aspects of a yoga practice. My classes allow students to move through a purposeful, comprehensive, and accessible practice with a unique theme. Students will leave feeling balanced and like they got a well-rounded yoga class.
You can expect calm, intuitive, and detailed instructions that emphasize internal feel over outward aesthetics. You can also expect to consistently work on accessible ways to come into arm balances and inversions. The class always ends with a meditative savasana.
Personal Inspiration:
I want to pass along what I’ve learned from instructors who’ve influenced me. I’ve been lucky to study with Bryan Kest, Rod Stryker, Rodney Yee, and amazing teachers across some of the best studios in Los Angeles, CA.
Through my work as a therapist for Cleveland Clinic, I see a lot of patients struggling. I like to remind myself and students that we can’t take anything for granted.
Outside the studio: I’m a former professional drummer and had a number one single in Japan; my favorite foods are cacio e pepe and sushi; my dog‘s name is Ralph Nader; and my favorite thing to do is go out to dinner with my wife and two kids every Friday night.
What makes CY special and the best?
The students here are incredible. I appreciate how everyone seems open-minded and willing to try something new. Breaking up our habits in yoga is crucial to practice development.
