WORKSHOPS

STRESS MANAGEMENT SERIES
4 WORKSHOPS.  ONE CALMER HOLIDAY SEASON.

Full calendars. Family commitments. Endless to-do lists. Even the things we look forward to can leave us feeling stretched thin.

Stress is part of life, but there are ways to meet it with greater awareness, steadiness, and ease.

Join Cleveland Yoga for four 75-minute workshops that combine practical education, meaningful connection, and guided experiences. Explore how stress shows up in your body and mind—and discover everyday tools to help you pause, release tension, and reconnect with yourself.  Each workshop offers a different approach: gentle movement and stillness, targeted accupressure with tennis balls, immersive sound, and mindfulness. Together, they create an opportunity to discover what helps you feel more grounded.

YIN YOGA with Halley Firstenberg

FRIDAY 11/13 (6:15-7:30 PM)

Slow down. Create space. Let yourself settle.

When life feels rushed, slowing down can be a practice in itself. Experience a quiet, floor-based yoga practice with longer-held poses that give you time to notice your breath, explore sensation, and soften unnecessary effort.  With guidance on using props and adjusting poses to your body, you’ll explore the balance between a gentle stretch and a comfortable place to pause. Along the way, notice how you respond to stillness—and practice meeting yourself with patience and kindness.

You’ll experience and explore:

  • Supported, longer-held poses with options for your comfort.

  • The connection between breath, physical tension, and your ability to settle.

  • How to recognize the difference between useful sensation and pushing too far.

  • Simple ways to bring a slower, more intentional pace into your day.

Take with you: Familiar poses and breathing cues to help you create a quiet pause at home.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE with Dr. Connor

SATURDAY 11/14 (1:00- 2:15 PM)

Find the tight spots. Explore gentle pressure. Make room for easier movement.

Do you notice yourself bracing your shoulders, tightening your back, or carrying tension without realizing it? This hands-on workshop introduces myofascial release through simple tennis ball self-massage techniques.

Learn how to position a ball, adjust pressure, and explore areas of muscular tension with care. Dr. Connor will guide you through techniques and explain how to approach them thoughtfully so you can feel more confident practicing on your own.

You’ll experience and explore:

  • An accessible introduction to fascia and its relationship to movement.

  • Guided tennis ball techniques for areas that commonly feel tight.

  • How to adjust positioning and pressure to your comfort.

  • When to ease off, modify, or skip a technique.

Take with you: Practical techniques you can return to after a long day, time at a desk, or physical activity.

SOUND BATH with Megan Velotta

FRIDAY 11/20 (6:15-7:30 PM)

An invitation to rest—with nothing to accomplish.

Set aside your to-do list and give yourself time to simply listen. A sound bath is an immersive listening experience in which you rest comfortably while waves of sound and resonance move through the room.

Megan will guide you into stillness and invite you to use sound as an anchor for your attention. There is no need to move through poses, concentrate perfectly, or force your mind to become quiet. Your experience may be restful, reflective, or simply a welcome change of pace.

You’ll experience and explore:

  • Time to get comfortable and settle into a restful position.

  • An immersive sound experience with space for quiet reflection.

  • Listening as a way to return your attention to the present moment.

  • The practice of resting without needing to be productive.

Take with you: A simple listening practice you can use to pause and reconnect during a busy day.

MEDITATION with Missy FitzGerald

SATURDAY 11/21 (1:00- 2:15 PM)

You don’t have to stop your thoughts to find a little peace.

If you’ve ever thought, “I can’t meditate—my mind is too busy,” this workshop is a place to begin.

Explore mindfulness and meditation in an approachable, practical way. Learn to notice your thoughts, recognize your personal stress signals, and create a little space between what happens and how you respond.

Through guided practices and everyday examples, Missy will help you discover ways to bring awareness into ordinary moments—between meetings, before a difficult conversation, or as you transition out of a demanding day.

You’ll experience and explore:

  • A simple explanation of the stress response and the mind-body connection.

  • Guided meditation, breath awareness, and grounding practices.

  • How to work with a wandering mind without judging yourself.

  • Brief practices that fit into daily life, even when you only have a few minutes.

Take with you: A selection of mindfulness tools to help you meet busy moments with greater presence and choice.
