E-RYT 500 | Founding Voice of Cleveland Yoga | Yoga Teacher Trainer | Creator of Practice with GRIT

Tami has been teaching yoga for over two decades, beginning in 1999. She founded Cleveland Yoga in 2003 and sold it in 2025 after dedicated years of leading, growing, and shaping one of the region’s most respected studios.

Certifications and Trainings: A lifelong student, she has completed and led multiple 200-hour trainings with the Baptiste Yoga organization and served on the ever evolving global leadership team. Since 2005, Tami has developed and led Cleveland Yoga’s own 200-hour Teacher Training programs, mentoring hundreds of teachers to lead with authenticity and clarity. Her advanced studies include 200- and 300-hour trainings with Jonny Kest, who taught her the art of flow, freedom, and humility; and with her first teacher, Jan Hauenstein, who opened her to yoga therapy, the healing arts, and the energetic intelligence of the chakra system. Tami continues to learn from teachers and leaders around the globe—and from the CY community itself, whose students and teachers inspire her every single day. Her teaching style is aligned, connected, inspiring, and sweaty.

What to Expect in Tami's Classes: Classes that are uncomplicated, fun, and full of rhythm—with music that moves through genres and energy that keeps you grounded yet lit up from the inside out.

What inspires Tami: Tami draws inspiration from meaningful connection and the quiet of nature, which helps her drop below the noise of the world.

Outside the studio: She is often creating new possibilities in the yoga and wellness world or spending time with her dog, Cora. Most nights end the same way: a short workout, a one-minute plank, and a quick dance to “Save My Love” by Bruce Springsteen.

What makes Cleveland Yoga special: The dedication of this community—and everything we’ve been through together. That’s what makes this place sacred. Cleveland Yoga is in my DNA. I will be forever proud.
