Certifications: Cleveland Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training Baptiste Power Yoga Institute – Teacher Trainings Level 1, 2, 3
Years teaching yoga: I have been teaching yoga since 2007. And teaching at Cleveland Yoga since 2008.
Teaching style: I'd say my teaching style is consistent and well-balanced. Every class is sweaty and athletic, but the pace is manageable for all levels and it lets you land in your body and in the pose. I always focus on healthy alignment and seamless transitions. It is the right blend of yang and yin so that the practitioner leaves feeling strong, stretched, and calm.
What students can expect in my class: Students can expect a strong class, a steady pace, and vibey music. They will leave sweaty, yet zen.
Personal Inspiration: I try not to dig too deep for personal inspiration. I focus on letting the yoga itself do the inspiring. The practice is powerful on its own. My job as a yoga teacher is to guide the students through the practice in a healthy and safe way. If the student is listening to their body/mind and continues to show up on his/her mat, the yoga practice will inspire on its own. It always does. That’s why it has stood the test of time.
Outside of the studio: When I am not at CY, I am working as an interior designer or spending time with my family and friends. I live in Chagrin Falls with my husband and my two daughters.
Why CY? CY’s longevity makes it the best studio in town. The longevity of the staff, the teachers, and the community is rare and speaks volumes about the way everyone feels about our studio. It’s home. You can always travel and explore, but home is home. There is no place like it.
